Our Empower Kids with Meditation programme is aimed at giving young people accessible, lifelong tools for a more peaceful and successful life. We also train teachers to become skilled in the use of meditation as part of their teaching toolkit, without changing school timetables or replacing other curricula. Meditation is also beneficial for counsellors, team leaders, facilitators, sports coaches or those conducting wellness or mindfulness programs.
In this programme, we teach theory and practice of meditation. We show how this valuable technique can be an essential tool for everyone’s life. Meditation is a special way of training the mind, leading to an overall improvement in well-being. It is easy to understand and practice – enjoyable for everyone!
Meditation has three main outcomes for students: increases well-being, better social skills, and greater academic skills. Students who are taught meditation at school report higher optimism, more positive emotions, stronger self-confidence, greater self-acceptance and take better care of their health, as well as minimising anxiety, stress and depression. Meditation helps the social life of students by increasing pro-social behaviour (like helping and respecting others) and decreasing anti-social behaviour (like selfishness and bullying). Finally, meditation improves a host of academic and learning skills in students: faster information processing, greater focus, more creativity and cognitive flexibility. Students learn to build their attention skills and regulate their impulses.
